Most employers prefer to hire human resources generalists with bachelors' degrees. The following degree programs are common among human resources generalists:- Human resources
- Business administration, especially with a focus on human resources or personnel
- Management
- Communications
Other degrees, such as those in the social sciences, can also prepare you for this career, especially if you have previous experience working in a human resources department.
Some employers list previous human resources experience as a requirement for human resources generalists.
