Human Resource Recruiter (HR Recruiter)
Finding the best employee fit for an organization is the job of the human resource recruiter. A recruiter may work in a variety of settings, such as larger companies, universities, career fairs etc., to find the top individulas among potential candidates for a particular position within an organization. An HR recruiter is typically in charge of hiring and will select the very best employees for an organization. They need to understand the background, personal characteristics and professional training that will make an employee a good fit for the organization and specific job in question.
Human resource recruiters typically work with hiring managers to find the right combination of talent for their positions. They work closely with hiring managers on writing job descriptions and also develop recruiting plans in order to bring in the best talent. They also will cultivate relationships with industry personnel in order to find the most highly skilled available employees.
Education and Training
Usually human resource recruiters have the minimum of a bachelor's degree. Some employers may prefer their recruiters to also have several years of work experience. Preference is often given to individuals who hold a master's degree in human resources. Individuals who wish to improve their chances of being hired for a human resources recruiter position will often enroll in a professional HR certification program. They will take coursework that involves organizational change, management, the metrics of human resources and planning for the workforce, as well as organization planning and various types of financial management processes.
It is also helpful for HR recruiters to be self confident and have a solid background in employee law. These multifaceted individuals can be a real asset to an organization. In addition, outside of the formal education required, strong communication skills are particularly important for success in this career.
